Where fat is stored in the human body actually matters. I recently learned a little about the difference between subcutaneous and visceral fat. Essentially, if you can pinch it, it’s subcutaneous fat. This type of fat is soft and generally considered to be of lower health risk. Visceral fat on the other hand, is stored deeply in our abdominal area. It’s highly active and quite dense. Too much visceral fat causes pressure on internal organs.
